This land is your land, this land is my land...

If you want to bring up the past...

From what I understand, the Jews were lead by Moses from Egypt to Israel. Next, the Romans came over to conqueror and established Palestine and Catholicism. Then, the Muslims on behalf of the Ottoman Empire decided to take over which created a mesh of religions although it didn't mesh too well.

If that weren't busy enough, the British some how crowded the scene and brought in the French, or maybe they brought themselves into the picture as Zionism was the talk of the time. The Balfour Declaration officially made the area homeland to the Jews. However, Arabs and Muslims who were already settled there did not like the sound of it. Thus, decades of wars and attempted peace negotiations bring us to this present day.

Arabs and Jews are still at battle with one another over mostly religious reasons. It seems that the principles both believe in are tied to the grenades being thrown right out of the window. To add to that, peaceful Turks were journeying to Gaza, via international waters, to give aid but were raided by Israelites. Whether it was due to misunderstandings or miscommunication, the result was a deadly mishap that magnified a history of the region's violence.

For a place that is supposed to be Holy, there has not been peace for a very long time. It seems as though Palestine is overwhelmed with hate and greed. That is two things that I'm sure it's preached against.

Material things do not belong to any of us. It belongs to Earth. It belongs to a Higher Being. We are only entitled to our spirits and our well being. To fight over a piece of land is pointless. We should all learn to live and work together as we respect each other differences. The minute someone becomes possessive, is the minute they lose themselves.
